Acier résistant à l'usure
Chinese wear resistant steel is mainly represented by NM series and AR equivalent grades, covering a hardness range from about 360 HB to over 600 HB. NM400 to NM500 are the most widely used grades due to their balanced performance, while higher grades such as NM550 and NM600 are designed for extreme wear conditions.
- Description
Wear resistant steel in China is mainly produced as NM series wear plates and AR equivalent grades. Ces matériaux sont largement utilisés dans l'exploitation minière, engins de chantier, cimenteries, usines sidérurgiques, et systèmes de manutention de matériaux en vrac. They are designed to provide a combination of high hardness, forte résistance à l'usure, and sufficient impact toughness for harsh working conditions.
NM Series Wear Resistant Steel (Main Chinese Grades)
The NM series is the most commonly used domestic wear steel standard, covering different hardness levels for different applications.
NM360 wear plate has a hardness of about 330–390 HB. It offers a good balance between wear resistance and toughness and is commonly used in general machinery, light mining equipment, and moderate wear structural parts.
NM400 wear plate is one of the most widely used grades, with hardness around 380–460 HB. It provides stronger wear resistance and is widely used in dump truck bodies, seaux d'excavatrice, cement plant liners, and medium-duty wear applications.
NM450 wear plate has higher hardness, around 430–500 HB. It is suitable for heavy wear environments such as mining equipment, high-impact zones, and material handling systems requiring longer service life.
NM500 wear plate has hardness around 470–550 HB. It is designed for severe abrasion conditions such as ore handling, concasseurs, and heavy-duty mining equipment.
NM550 and NM600 Ultra High Hardness Grades
NM550 wear plate has hardness around 520–600 HB and is used in extremely high wear environments such as mining crushers and severe abrasion systems.
NM600 wear plate is the highest hardness grade in the NM series, reaching about 570–650 HB. It is used in extreme wear conditions such as high-impact crushing equipment and heavy ore processing systems.
AR Series Equivalent Grades
Chinese wear steel also includes AR equivalent grades that match international standards.
AR400 equivalent has around 400 HB hardness and provides a balance of wear resistance and toughness, commonly used in construction machinery and mining equipment.
AR450 equivalent has higher hardness around 450 HB and is used in heavy-duty wear environments.
AR500 equivalent reaches about 500 HB hardness and is suitable for extreme abrasion conditions such as mining and bulk material handling systems.
Caractéristiques de performance clés
Chinese wear resistant steels are mainly produced through quenching and tempering processes, forming a martensitic microstructure. This structure provides high hardness while maintaining enough toughness to prevent cracking under impact.
These materials have excellent resistance to abrasion from sand, minerai, charbon, et du gravier. They also offer good weldability when proper processing methods are used, making them suitable for fabrication and structural applications. The combination of hardness and toughness ensures long service life in industrial environments.
Application Overview by Grade
NM360 is used for general wear parts and light-duty applications.
