概要
Mn13 is a high-manganese steel known for exceptional wear resistance, インパクトと高圧のアプリケーションに最適です. Its two main qualities are:

  1. Increased wear resistance with greater impact.
  2. Continuous formation of hardened layers as the surface wears.

Unlike high-chromium cast iron, which resists only sliding wear, Mn13 steel is also highly effective against impact and high-stress wear. It offers easy machinability, 切断も含めて, 溶接, and bending. By using Mn13, costs for equipment wear and maintenance can be significantly reduced.

  1. 切断
    • プラズマ切断: プラズマ切断, especially underwater, is recommended for Mn13. Underwater plasma cutting heats the steel plate to thousands of degrees, melting the surface quickly and preventing oxidation with water cooling. This results in a smooth, flat surface without heat-affected zones. Air plasma cutting is also an option.
    • Flame Cutting: Traditional flame cutting can be used with a cutting trolley. Select the appropriate nozzle size and adjust the gas-to-oxygen ratio (a neutral flame works best). Complete all adjustments before starting to prevent cross-section gaps.
  2. 溶接
    Mn13 steel plates can be welded using manual arc welding. Prepare by cleaning the weld area to remove rust and oil. Use a small-diameter electrode (3–3.5mm), small current, and high voltage for multi-layer, fast welding. For DC welding, connect the electrode to the positive pole. Hammer each weld layer to improve crack resistance, and cool with water if needed.

Mn13 steel’s wear resistance, combined with easy machinability, makes it an excellent choice for extending the life and efficiency of equipment components.
