Welding Manganese Steel
Manganese steel can be welded using both electrical and autogenous methods. Electrical welding is preferred to prevent the loss of manganese and carbon, which can occur during autogenous welding. When using shielded electrodes, it is recommended to choose those with 0.8% に 1.0% carbon and 15% に 18% マンガン. Note that the wear resistance at the weld seam is slightly lower than in the base material.
