NM400 Wear Resistant Steel Plate
The NM series wear-resistant steel plates, including NM400, are engineered for exceptional performance across industries. These plates feature high strength, superior hardness, excellent wear resistance, along with good weldability and bendability, making them ideal for harsh working environments.
- Description

Applications of NM400 Wear-Resistant Steel Plate
NM400 plates are widely used in applications requiring long-term durability and impact resistance, such as:
-
Loader bucket edges in the construction machinery industry
-
Liner plates in crushers for the mining and quarrying industry
-
Slat conveyors in the coal mining sector
-
Pulverizer liner plates in the power generation industry
-
Hopper liners for heavy-duty transport trucks
Cold-Forming Characteristics
Despite its high hardness and strength, NM400 steel offers good cold-forming capabilities. However, to prevent edge cracking during bending, it is recommended to grind sheared or flame-cut edges in the bending area prior to forming. NM400 demonstrates stable performance in standard cold-moulding processes.
Hot-Forming Characteristics
NM400 steel also allows for efficient hot-forming, with recommended processing temperatures below 350°C. If the material is heated above its transformation temperature (AC) during forming, a low-temperature tempering treatment (250°C–350°C) is required post-forming to maintain material integrity. (For reference, compared to Sweden’s DILLIDUR 400V, NM400’s hot-forming temperature can be approximately 150°C higher.)
