Theoretical Weight of Wear-Resistant Composite Steel Plate

Theoretical Weight of Wear-Resistant Composite Steel Plate

The theoretical weight of wear-resistant composite steel plates differs slightly from that of regular steel plates. For ordinary steel plates, the weight is calculated using the formula: 7.85 * thickness (mm). This gives the weight per square meter.

However, wear-resistant composite steel plates are somewhat lighter. For instance, a 5+5 wear-resistant composite plate has a specific gravity of 7.7, due to the lower density of the surfacing wear-resistant layer. On the other hand, a 10+5 wear-resistant composite plate has a specific gravity of 7.8.

This indicates that the density of wear-resistant composite steel plates is not constant and varies with the thickness of both the substrate and the surfacing layer. Therefore, the theoretical weight calculation for these plates depends on their specific thickness.
