Introduction to Wear-Resistant Steel Plates

Wear-resistant steel plates are made for harsh environments where surface wear is frequent. They are built to handle high pressure, friction, heat, and even corrosive or oxidizing conditions. These plates usually have a hard alloy layer added to regular steel, giving them both toughness and durability.

Types of Wear-Resistant Materials

1. Iron-Based Wear-Resistant Alloy

Iron is the main component. Small amounts of carbon and alloy elements are added.
✅ Features: Good wear resistance, impact resistance, and fatigue strength.
📌 Types:

  • High-carbon low-alloy steel

  • Medium-carbon alloy steel

  • Low-carbon high-alloy steel

2. Nickel-Based Wear-Resistant Alloy

Nickel is used as the base. Iron, chromium, and molybdenum are added.
✅ Features: High resistance to wear, heat, and corrosion.
📌 Types:

  • Incoloy series

  • Inconel series

3. Copper-Based Wear-Resistant Alloy

Copper is the main base. Tin, phosphorus, and manganese are added.
✅ Features: Wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and good electrical conductivity.
📌 Types:

  • Monel series

  • Carpenter series

4. Polymer Wear-Resistant Material

These are non-metal materials made from strong plastic compounds.
✅ Features: Lightweight, strong, corrosion-resistant, and wear-resistant.
📌 Common types:

  • Polyimide

  • PEEK

  • PTFE
📍 Used in: Bearings, seals, gears

5. Composite Wear-Resistant Plate

Different steel types are layered together.
✅ Features: Strong wear and fatigue resistance with added corrosion protection.
📌 Types:

  • Stainless/Steel

  • Titanium/Steel

  • Aluminum/Steel

6. Wear-Resistant Alloy Cast Iron

Cast iron is mixed with chromium, manganese, or aluminum.
✅ Features: Excellent resistance to wear and impact.
📍 Used in: Buckets, hammers, and other heavy machinery parts.

7. High Carbon, High Chromium Alloy

Made with iron, carbon, and chromium. The material is hardened by heat treatment.
✅ Features: High hardness and great wear resistance.
📌 Types:

  • Cr12

  • Cr12MoV
📍 Used for: Cutting tools, molds, measuring tools

8. High-Hardness Wear-Resistant Alloy

Includes carbon, chromium, tungsten, and vanadium.
✅ Features: High heat resistance, strength, and wear protection.
📌 Types:

  • High-speed steel

  • Hard alloy series
📍 Used for: Drilling bits, mining tools, and cutters

9. High Wear-Resistant Low-Alloy Steel

A low-alloy steel type with improved wear protection.
✅ Features: Balanced wear resistance and toughness.
📌 Types:

  • Mn13

  • CuNiCr series
